If you host guests in your Fort Myers, Florida, home, you want to take a few extra steps to make sure they are comfortable during their visit. You don’t have to use a lot of extra energy to make your guests’ stay pleasant.
Most people are inclined to crank up the heat to make their home feel cozy when they have guests. Before turning up the dial, consider a few things first. When there’s a lot of people in the house, it will naturally be warmer.
Constant cooking will also increase the temperature in your home. You may not have to turn up the temperature as much as you think to make your home feel cozy. If you’re trying to save energy, consider putting space heaters in your guest room instead of turning on the heat if it’s just a little chilly at night.
If you’re hosting people for the holidays, make the extra effort to make them feel welcome and comfortable. Try to think of the things that would make a guest more at ease in your home. Make sure to have fresh towels ready for them, clean sheets, and toiletries in the bathroom in case they forgot anything. Even if you don’t drink coffee or wine, if your guest does, have it in the house for their arrival.
Indoor Air Quality
People are already susceptible to getting sick when they travel, and that’s even truer when you have guests in your home because of the increase in people bringing in germs. Try to fend off the cold and flu by focusing on your air quality. Change your filters in your HVAC system before having guests, and make sure to sweep and dust as much as possible as well. Finally, have pets groomed, washed, or at least brushed to limit hair and dander in your home as well.
